More than 6,000 dogs join Amazon’s employees every single day at their Seattle headquarters. The tradition has been going on since day one and dogs are allowed to be around their owners all the time.

“Having dogs in our workplace is an amazing treat. They make employees smile, and we’re proud this is such a uniquely Amazonian tradition. It’s truly ingrained in our company culture,” explains Lara Hirschfield, our “Woof Pack” Manager. “Our employees love bringing their dogs to work and love meeting their co-workers’ dogs.”

The tradition started with the Welsh corgi, Rufus, who increased productivity just by being around the employees. There are photos of Rufus around the buildings and one of them is even named after him.

The dogs receive many good perks like a dedicated place where they can run around and a room with a fire hydrant and many places they can get a little snack.
