China-Europe freight trains continue to expand

Freight trains between China and Europe continue their expansion. As of March 2019 the service has connected 60 Chinese and 50 European cities in 15 countries.

Germany, Russia, and Kazakhstan top the list of most visited countries by Chinese trains. Germany has 21.65% of the total, Russia 17% and Kazakhstan 9%.

Germany benefited greatly by creating 6,000 new jobs.

Many European countries are benefiting from the service. More than a 100,000 containers were delivered in 2017 with a record revenue of $283 million. The trains have helped local German economy by creating nearly 6,000 new jobs.

China’s provinces are also benefiting from the increase of trade and some of the poorest are experiencing an economic growth.
