DeliveryApp launches V3 of platform

News Technology

Since officially announcing its launch at the start of September 2021 with v2, DeliveryApp has enjoyed rapid growth. The tech platform which connects users to a network of independent couriers across the country has rolled out at pace whilst developing new tech in the background.

The driver network has grown considerably to over 1,000 activated drivers and a newly formed driver operations team has been created to keep up with driver demand. This scale of network ensures the entire country is covered from Land’s End to John O’ Groats.

DeliveryApp is now launching v3 of the app, introducing a host of new technology including integration of several third-party platforms in-order to make the user experience better than ever along with an evolution to the platform’s branding, bringing in more vibrant colourways.

Opening the platform up to the gig economy, DeliveryApp is now accepting car drivers across the country. A partnership with insurance platform Zego has also been secured, meaning that anyone with access to their own vehicle will soon be able to complete deliveries, paying by the hour for their commercial insurance and therefore reducing the capital investment required to get started. This is particularly interesting as it opens the business up to those who may wish to use the platform as a second or part-time income, this supports the business in growing its’ out of traditional office hours offer. The Zego integration will be available in the coming months.

DeliveryApp now integrates global mapping platform ‘what3words’ to make collection and delivery easier than ever before. Its concise geo-locations pinpointed to a 3M grid ensure that collections and deliveries are a smoother transition.

One of the biggest technical developments is the introduction of multi-drop. This ensures that users can send multiple parcels from one location with the same driver, a huge benefit for users helping to increase a driver’s potential earnings and reduce costs for customers sending more than one parcel.

Other developments include the introduction of GoCardless payments for business users registering for a verified account, faster registrations, and better identity checks for drivers.

Finally, a new fleet manager module has been created for courier companies looking to use the platform to grow their business. Fleet managers can now accept and allocate jobs to their drivers through the platform, controlling multiple drivers and jobs through the one account.

Lance Jones, Chief Executive and Founder of DeliveryApp said: “I’m beyond proud of the team’s achievements to date. Over the last six months the business has gone from strength-to-strength and with that, our tech continues to get better and better for our users. The platform is now open to a broader cross section of drivers, helping to find a real-world solution for the lack of drivers the logistics industry is facing thanks to the partnership with Zego, user experience is better than ever with the introduction of what3words, GoCardless and Multidrop. It feels like we’re on the cusp of something very special and our growth within the industry hasn’t gone unnoticed by our competitors. We look forward to building upon this success as we move through 2022 and improve everything we do.”
