DSV is launching a new full load multimodal service between the UK and Spain, the company announced.
The firm explains the new service is a direct answer to the need for a better alternative to road movement that is more convenient and cheaper. The new product will utilise the rail networks in both countries and will provide door-to-door coverage.
“Offering a full door to door service, on arrival at Boulou, DSV will collect the trailer from the train and deliver directly to the customer. The service is initially launched to facilitate the movement between the South and Midlands in the UK to Barcelona area (post codes 08,17,25,43),” DSV said.
Denise Clarke – Senior Director commented: “We have trialled the route over the past few weeks and as we continuously monitor our carbon footprint, emissions and energy efficiencies, it is evident that utilising rail will make a positive impact on the environment as the same time we can offer our customer a better price. Today we officially launch the service as daily.”
