“Permanent changes happen gradually and will be seen for those sectors that for example allow employees to work from home,” Lars Jensen from Sea Intelligence Consulting says. More realistic is to look at a temporary new normal for the next few years where the virus hasn’t gone completely but is contained. This scenario will put pressure on many industries. The longer the service part of the economy is depressed the more people would lose their jobs.
