Independent fleet and mobility management specialist TraXall International has appointed Francisco Ponton as International Business Development Director.

Bringing more than 21 years of fleet management, leasing and strategic business growth experience to the role, Ponton has held senior management roles for a number of international operators including Arval Spain, Masterlease Iberia, HPI and ARI.

He joins from sustainable fleet consultancy Planet-A, where he advised large corporate clients on the transition to electric.

Ponton will lead the international team, building on TraXall’s increasing customer growth success throughout Europe and Latin America.  In addition, he is tasked with expanding TraXall’s presence across new global markets and consolidating the company’s leading position as an innovator in sustainable mobility solutions.

“Businesses are increasingly looking for wider and more planet-friendly approaches to fleet management than the company car,” he explained.

“Constantly evolving technology is empowering more complex but more sustainable transport solutions, which integrate car sharing, public transport and even cycling with the car.  We will continue to invest heavily in ground-breaking technology solutions that use powerful data insights to connect the different options in the most efficient way.”

Recent global challenges have also sharpened the focus on the effectiveness of TraXall’s multi-bid leasing approach, according to Ponton.

“In a market challenged not only by the semiconductor crisis, but also by pricing pressures and commodity shortages impacting both manufacturers and leasing companies, our multi-bid supplier solution is proving more effective than ever,” he said.

“A competitive approach is the only way to guarantee the best vehicle prices on the market and keep a lid on soaring fleet costs.”

Ponton is taking over from Leomont Wouda, who is focusing on TraXall Belgium as Managing Director, a role he has successfully held for several years.

Now the largest independent fleet management company in Belgium, TraXall Belgium has seen a 50% growth in the past few years, fuelled by a ground-breaking EV proposition.

In addition to running feasibility testing on which drivers would be best suited to transition to an electric or hybrid vehicle, the software also then calculates the amount of electricity used by an employee to charge an EV.

Wouda, who will remain on the TraXall International board, commented: “I’m delighted to be able to focus on supporting the rapid growth we are seeing at TraXall Belgium and will be leveraging our market-leading expertise in EV consultancy to advise clients on everything from initial feasibility studies to finding the right EV charging partners across multiple markets.”

TraXall International CEO Ross Jackson added: “TraXall is seeing increased interest in its multi-supplier solutions as organisations look to combat rising costs in their supply chain.  Our managed approach to dynamic sourcing, coupled with TraXall’s deep knowledge of local markets results in a unique competitive agility that simply isn’t present in conventional supply chains.  This essential focus on protecting our customers’ cost base, combined with a global strategic overview, means that we are in a unique position to help fleets drive out costs at national and international levels and still deliver an outstanding, yet simple, user experience.

“We are pleased to welcome Francisco onto our growing team. His expertise and experience will help us showcase the difference that TraXall makes to its customers, as well as how we work in true partnership to protect our customers’ interests and cost base worldwide.”
