Future of Shipping: Decarbonisation & Digitalization

Updated: Sep 14

IMO and the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore are jointly organizing two free to access  webinars on the Future of Shipping, on 17 September 2020 and 8 October 2020. The webinars seek to share insights on digitalization, decarbonisation and trade in a disrupted world following the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Future of Shipping: Decarbonisation

The first webinar – “Future of Shipping: Decarbonisation” will be held online on 17 September 2020 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. (BSM, GMT+1). It will hear presentations on various cooperation-frameworks on decarbonisation from differing perspectives, ranging from the initiatives in the Pacific to actions led by the industry. A panel discussion will allow for an exchange of views on what are additional opportunities for cooperation, and consider next steps in realizing those opportunities together to support achieving the 2050 level of ambition set out in the Initial IMO Strategy on reduction of GHG emissions from ships.
