The current system of controlling parking and the movement of commercial vehicles around cities appears to be unfair, and unnecessary penalises logistics providers without giving them an appropriate alternative.
Firms are forced to break the rules as they do not have a way of executing their deliveries that fulfil both the business objectives and the community.
‘We need to look at ways to identify opportunities to make deliveries at off peak times as this provides a number of societal benefits and helps local councils,’ says Neil Herron, founder and CEO of Grid Smarter Cities.
