Hermes, one of the UK’s leading consumer delivery companies, has appointed a Head of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) to drive the business’s environmental, social, governance agenda.
Nancy Hobhouse will take up the newly created role, spearheading several key initiatives and developing an ambitious and robust ESG strategy. Her remit covers every aspect of the business from product development to operational changes around key touch points including alternative fuel usage, industry knowledge sharing and people-centric initiatives. She will also lead the company’s reporting on ESG.
Nancy joins from John Lewis Partnership where she was Senior Sustainability Manager leading the Partnership’s wide climate strategy and John Lewis’ circular economy and raw materials strategy. Nancy also was an elected member of the Partnership governing authority. Prior to that, Nancy was responsible for implementing Barclay’s Bank PLC’s strategy for managing and reporting the Bank’s global climate strategy and worked in ESG for the Credit Risk teams. Nancy has an MSc from King’s College London in Environmental Monitoring, Modelling and Management and a degree in Oceanography and Geology from the National Oceanography Centre at Southampton University.
